Introducing the Midwest's Newest Band and Orchestra Music Publishing Company

My name is Justin Marshall Riley, owner and president of the Midwest's newest music publishing company, Band Geek Dad Music! We specialize in publishing music for wind band, orchestra, flex band, keyboard and chamber ensembles. We hope that you find value in the stories and information you'll find here.

Several years ago, I had the opportunity to meet an extraordinary family, the Dundas Family of Austin, MN. Christoph Dundas currently serves as High School Band Director for the Austin, MN public schools. I had been approached by Liz Bahr, band director at Eastern Allamakee Community School District in Iowa (where Mr. Dundas had previously taught) and asked if I would be interested in composing an original piece of band music dedicated to the memory of Adelia Dundas, Christoph and Kelsey's eldest daughter, who had passed away the previous year at age 10. After meeting with the Dundases over video conference, I was deeply moved by their story, their courage, and most importantly, their faith in Jesus.

One year later, the piece (which is based on Adelia's favorite hymn Jesus Loves Me) was premiered by the middle school band students at the Eastern Allamakee Community School District under the direction of Liz Bahr in April of 2023. A year after that, my daughter, Lauralee, designed the cover art for the piece, and it was released for publication.
